On this day in history in the NCHSAA, Chris Varela of Fayetteville Pine Forest dished out eight assists en route to a shut out defeat of Cornerstone Academy in men’s high school soccer. His mark ranks second all-time in NCHSAA men’s soccer history behind Raymundo Fumo’s (Parkwood) nine assists set in 2000.
