COACH BOB PAROLI REACHES MILESTONE
FAYETTEVILLE
-- Veteran head football coach Bob Paroli has reached another milestone.
Last
Friday night Paroli recorded the 400th coaching victory of his
illustrious career as Seventy-First defeated E.E. Smith 24-14. Paroli is in his
54th season as a head coach and was inducted into the North Carolina
High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame during the 1999-2000 academic
year.
His
coaching stops have included Benson (1958-64), Jacksonville (1964-65), New York
Military Academy (1965-71), Wilson Fike (1971-76), Burlington Cummings
(1976-80), followed by Douglas Byrd and Seventy-First.
A native of New York, Paroli
is a 1958 graduate of N.C. State University. He has coached in all of
the significant football all-star games in the state, including the East-West
games, the Shrine Bowl and the old North-South game.
