NCHSAA CHAMPION IN SPORTS ILLUSTRATED
A recent North Carolina High School Athletic Association state champion has earned a mention in Sports Illustrated magazine.
J.T. Poston of Hickory High School recently set a couple of NCHSAA records in winning the state 3-A golf championship. His one-round score of 63 was the lowest ever shot for 18 holes in the state championship, and his 36-hole score of 131, 13 under par, was also a new state tournament record.
His brilliant performance earned him a mention in the "Faces In The Crowd" section of the current issue of Sports Illustrated.
Poston has won the last two individual 3-A golf titles. His record was achieved on the par-72, 6,851-yard layout at the Foxfire Golf and Country Club.
Congratulations to J.T. Poston on his outstanding achievement.
