REAGAN HAS NEW HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

WINSTON-SALEM -- The Winston-Salem Journal has reported that Reagan High School has named Josh McGee as its new head football coach.

McGee, 27, was an outstanding football player at West Forsyth and then at Winston-Salem State University. McGee, a former assistant at Reagan and West Forsyth, replaces Greg King, the only head football coach Reagan has known since he has led the program from its start in 2005. King resigned in November after six seasons, with a record of 11-53.

McGee spent three seasons at Reagan as an assistant, including 2007 and 2008 as offensive coordinator. During the past two seasons he served as the quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator at West Forsyth.

The new Reagan coach graduated from West Forsyth in 2001, after starting at quarterback as a junior and senior. He started at quarterback at Winston-Salem State for four seasons. He is WSSU's all-time leader in passing attempts (686), completions (395) and completion percentage (.575), is second in passing yards (4,383) and fourth in touchdown passes (35).
