EAST BLADEN FOOTBALL COACH HONORED
ELIZABETHTOWN -- The Bladen County Board of Education is going to honor an outstanding coach.
The Board has voted to name the East Bladen High School football stadium in honor of veteran head coach Lenon Fisher.
Fisher has been at East Bladen for more than 30 years and his teams have rolled up 245 victories against just 112 defeats. East Bladen played for the 2008 NCHSAA 1-A state championship, where the Eagles fell to Thomasville.
East is 8-1 this year after a win last Friday night over cross-county rival West Bladen.
Details have not been finalized about the actual ceremony at an upcoming game where Fisher will be recognized and the stadium formally named.
