After just two seasons, Chelsea Wilkinson of Alexander Central High School is making a name for herself-- a name that is now found in several places in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state record book in softball.
A pitcher for the powerful Alexander Central team who is now a junior, she has already thrown seven perfect games and 10 no-hitters in her career to go with 41 shutouts in just two seasons. She earned 27 pitching victories a year ago and struck out a whopping 349 batters.
All of these are performance listings in various categories, but she certainly has the potential to move up the ladder toward state records in a number of different areas. All of her achievements are now part of the NCHSAA Record Book, found on-line by clicking on the link on the front page (to the right) and then going to the specific sport.
Head coach Monte Sherrill of Alexander Central provided the documentation so that Chelsea could be recognized.
