Student from St. Pauls High School wins the Click it or Ticket T-shirt Design Contest

CHAPEL HILL, NC  – In February, the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) and the Governor’s Highway Safety Program held a t-shirt design contest for students across the state of North Carolina.

The purpose of the contest was for students at NCHSAA member high schools to create a t-shirt design promoting the “Click it or Ticket” messaging and to generate an increased awareness for the importance of seatbelt use “every seat, every time.”

Designs were submitted to the NCHSAA and a panel of judges from the Governor’s Highway Safety Program selected the top eight designs from all submissions.  These designs were then voted on by the public via a social media poll.

Fourth Place:   Created by Middle Creek High School’s Skylar Boyd.

Third Place:  Created by Anson High School’s LeAnna Davis and Nune Vue.

Runner-Up:  The D.R.E.A.M team from East Bladen High School.

First Place: Created by St. Pauls High School's Collin Dunn.

Dunn’s design concept will be featured on t-shirts given away at the March 10th, 2018 NCHSAA High School Basketball State Championships.  Dunn will receive a gift pack courtesy of the NCHSAA and St. Pauls High School will receive a cash donation in Dunn’s name from the North Carolina High School Athletic Association to recognize his great work in the contest.

The Governor’s Highway Safety Program and the North Carolina High School Athletic Association thank all schools and students who participated in the initiative and remind everyone to “Click it or Ticket.”  Look for more initiatives from the Governor’s Highway Safety Program and the NCHSAA during the remainder of 2018.
