YANCEYVILLE—David Weathersby has begun his new duties at Bartlett Yancey High School as head football coach, according to a recent feature story in the Burlington Times-News.
Weathersby started working at Bartlett Yancey in mid-March, where he is the third head football coach in three years and wants to help the Buccaneer to their first winning season since 1994.
The new Bartlett Yancey head coach is 32 years old and will be a head coach at the varsity level for the first time after several years of head coaching experience at the junior varsity level, at both Western Harnett and his alma mater, Southeast Raleigh.
Weathersby began his coaching career at Raleigh Broughton, where he was an assistant serving in a number of different capacities.
