White Oak Basketball Coach To Assume Athletic Director Duties

         JACKSONVILLE—Chris Grimes, the head men’s basketball coach at White Oak High School, will add additional duties on August 1 when he also becomes the athletic director at the school, according to a report in the Jacksonville Daily News.

         Grimes, who has served as head basketball coach for three seasons, will be taking over for long-time athletic director Greg Grantham, who has been in that role since 1999 and is retiring.

         Grimes, age 33, has been working with Grantham as an assistant athletic director for the past four years.       

         Prior to coaching at White Oak, Grimes had coached several sports at Millbrook. He graduated from Millbrook in 1998 and coached the men’s tennis team to a North Carolina High School Athletic Association dual team tennis state championships in 2009.
