Fall Wells Fargo Conference Cup Standings Announced

            Wells Fargo, along with the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, today announced the final standings in the Wells Fargo Conference Cup competitions for the 2014 fall sports season.

            The Wells Fargo Cup award, sponsored by Wells Fargo and the NCHSAA, recognizes the  schools that achieve the best overall interscholastic athletic performance within each of the state’s four competitive classifications. 

            The Wells Fargo Conference Cup is a companion to the Wells Fargo Cup and recognizes schools with the best overall interscholastic athletic performances within individual conferences. Wachovia and now Wells Fargo has sponsored the conference awards program since 1980.

            In most conferences, points are awarded based on participation and standings in conference play. Each conference determines its own method of awarding points. Conferences are listed alphabetically by classification.

 

Class 1-A Conference Results

 

Tar Roanoke 1-A: Granville Central is able to take the top spot after the fall with a championship in men’s soccer and second place finishes in volleyball and men’s and women’s cross country. Second place belongs to Louisburg, with a first place finish in volleyball and runner-up finishes in football and men’s soccer. Southeast Halifax sits in third, thanks to a conference championship in football. Conference Standings: Granville Central 17, Louisburg 15, Southeast Halifax 14, KIPP Pride 11, Weldon 4.5, Northwest Halifax 2.5.

 

Smoky Mountain 1-A: Swain jumps out in front of the field this fall, with a first-place finish in girls cross country and a tie for first in volleyball, followed by a second-place finish for men’s soccer. Robbinsville and Hayesville are neck and neck in second place with football being the top finish for Robbinsville and men’s cross country being the top finish for Hayesville. Conference Standings: Swain 51.5, Robbinsville 42, Hayesville 42, Murphy 41, Rosman 29.5, Cherokee 25, Andrews 21, lands 18, Hiwassee Dam 17, Blue Ridge 15, Nantahala 8.

 

North Central Athletic Conference 1-A: With a first-place finish in men’s soccer and second place finishes in women’s tennis as well as men’s and women’s cross country, Raleigh Charter owns the top spot in the conference. Not far behind is Franklin Academy, taking first in women’s cross country and second in men’s soccer. Voyager Academy is third, finishing first in women’s tennis and second in volleyball. Conference Standings: Raleigh Charter 33, Franklin Academy 32, Voyager Academy 28, Roxboro Community 21.5, Research Triangle 21, Woods Charter 17, East Wake Academy 13, River Mill Academy 6.5, Kestrel Heights 5.

 

Northwest 1-A: Bishop McGuinness sits atop the conference after the fall season with top finishes in women’s cross country and women’s tennis. In second place is East Surry, with top finishes in football, women’s golf, men’s soccer, and volleyball. Mount Airy and Walkertown are tied for third, with a top finish in men’s cross country for Walkertown while Mount Airy earned three second-place finishes. Conference Standings: Bishop McGuinness 35, East Surry 32.5, Mount Airy 31, Walkertown 31, North Stokes 17.5, Atkins 14, Winston-Salem Prep 2.

 

Coastal 10 1-A: Camden County takes the lead after the fall with a first place tie in volleyball, and second place finishes in football and men’s soccer. Second place is a tie between Gates County and Perquimans. Gates ended the fall with third place finishes in men’s soccer and football, while Perquimans finished in a first place tie in volleyball and fourth in football. Conference Standings: Camden County 29.5, Gates County 25.5, Perquimans 25.5, Manteo 19.5, Plymouth 18, Cape Hatteras 13, Columbia 10, Creswell 8, Ocracoke 5, Mattamuskeet 4.

 

Carolina 1-A: With a sweep of the cross country titles and a strong second place finish in football, Princeton leads the conference after the fall season. Rosewood is second, with a third-place finish in football and fourth in men’s soccer. Lakewood takes third place, with a first place finish in volleyball and a fourth place finish in football. Conference Standings: Princeton 32, Rosewood 28, Lakewood 25, Hobbton 24, Spring Creek 22, James Kenan 20, North Duplin 15, Neuse Charter 2.

 

Yadkin Valley 1-A: Gray Stone Day takes the top spot after the fall with division championships in both men’s and women’s cross country, volleyball, men’s soccer, and also in women’s tennis. North takes second in the conference with division titles in men’s soccer and women’s cross country. Thanks to division championships in women’s tennis and men’s cross country, Chatham Central sits in the third spot for the conference. Conference Standings: Gray Stone Day 147.5, North Moore 140, Chatham Central 130, North Stanly 125, East Montgomery 120, Union Academy 115, West Montgomery 105, South Davidson 80, Queens Grant 77.5, South Stanly 75, Albemarle 70.

 

Coastal Plains 1-A: East Carteret is the frontrunner after the fall, with league tittles in women’s tennis and men’s soccer. Not far behind is Lejeune in second, with a sweep in the cross country championships. Pamlico is third overall with top finishes in football and volleyball. Conference Standings: East Carteret 265, Lejeune 250, Pamlico 180, Bear Grass 175, Northside 160, Southside 115, Jones 105.

 

Two Rivers 1-A: Riverside-Martin sits atop in the conference after the fall season, with top finishes in women’s tennis, volleyball and men’s and women’s cross country. Second place belongs to Tarboro, which took home the titles in men’s soccer and also football, while South Creek holds third. Conference Standings: Riverside-Martin 21, Tarboro 15, South Creek 14, North Edgecombe 9, Northampton 6, Rocky Mount Preparatory 3.

 

Southern Piedmont 1-A: With league championships in volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and both men and women’s cross country, Community School of Davidson takes first place after the fall sports season. Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy sits in second place, thanks to a first place tie in football and a runner-up finish in men’s soccer. Third place belongs to Pine Lake Prep, with second place finishes in women’s golf, women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s cross country. Conference Standings: Community School of Davidson 115, Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy 108, Pine Lake Prep 74, Highland School of Technology 61, Lincoln Charter 58, Cherryville 57, Bessemer City 42.

 

Class 1-A/2-A Conference Results

 

Western Highlands 1-A/2-A: Hendersonville squeaks out in front of the pack after the fall season, with championships in women’s tennis and golf and also a first place tie in volleyball with Polk County. Second-place Polk County finished with the first place tie in volleyball and also swept the cross country championships. Third place belongs to Avery County, with runner-up finishes in women’s tennis and golf. Conference Standings: Hendersonville 75, Polk County 74, Avery County 62.5, Charles D. Owen 60, Mountain Heritage 43, Madison 40.5, Mitchell 29.

 

Mountain Valley 1-A/2-A: With championships in men’s and women's cross country, women’s tennis and a first place tie in football, Elkin earned the top spot in the conference after the fall season. Ashe County beat out Wilkes Central for second, thanks to league titles in men’s soccer, women’s tennis and a share of the football crown with Elkin. Third-place Wilkes Central finished in second in both women’s golf and men’s soccer. Conference Standings: Elkin 43, Ashe County 41, Wilkes Central 35, East Wilkes 32.5, Starmount 28, West Wilkes 26, Alleghany 22, North Wilkes 21.5.

 

Four County 1-A/2-A: Clinton is the frontrunner in the conference after the fall sports season, thanks to a first-place finish in women’s tennis, first place tie in football, and a runner-up finish in men’s soccer. Wallace-Rose Hill, which edged out Pender for second, also tied for first in football and took sole possession of the top spot in men’s soccer. Third-place Pender finished with league titles in volleyball and men’s cross country. Conference Standings: Clinton 39.3, Wallace-Rose Hill 32.8, Pender 32, Midway 26.5, East Bladen 24.8, West Bladen 17, Heide Trask 16, Union 14.5.

 

Three Rivers 1-A/2-A: With a solid fall season, Whiteville sits on top of the conference, thanks to first place finishes in football, men’s soccer, and women’s tennis. Fairmont beats out

South Columbus for second place, despite both schools tying for first place in volleyball and also tying for second place in football. Conference Standings: Whiteville 45.5, Fairmont 33, South Columbus 25.5, St. Pauls 25, Red Springs 24.5, East Columbus 22.5, South Robeson 22, West Columbus 14.

 

Class 2-A Conference Results

 

Mid State 2-A: Carrboro has raced out to the front of the conference with a stellar fall season, finishing first in men’s and women's cross country, men’s soccer, women’s tennis, and volleyball.  Jordan-Matthews took second place, with runner-up finishes in women’s cross country, men’s soccer, and women’s tennis. Right on the heels of second place is Cummings, with runner-up finishes in men’s cross country and football. Conference standings: Carrboro 32, Jordan-Matthews 23, Cummings 22, Reidsville 16, Graham 14, Bartlett Yancey 14.

 

Central Carolina 2-A: Salisbury is the conference leader this fall, with five first-place finishes including women’s golf, women’s tennis, volleyball, men’s cross country, and men’s soccer. Second-place finishes in women’s golf, women’s tennis, and men’s cross country have West Davidson sitting in second place, while East Davidson is third, finishing second in volleyball and women's cross country, and third in women’s golf and men’s cross country. Conference Standings: Salisbury 67, West Davidson 58, East Davidson 52, Lexington 43.5, North Rowan 30, Thomasville 20.5.

 

PAC 6 2-A: With a sweep in cross country and taking second place in football, Randleman earned the conference lead after the fall season. Providence Grove is in second, with a first place finish in women’s tennis and second in volleyball. Trinity is on Providence Grove’s heels, thanks to first place in men’s soccer and second in men’s and women’s cross country. Conference standings: Randleman 26, Providence Grove 22.5, Trinity 22, Wheatmore 21.5, Eastern Randolph 21, High Point T.W. Andrews 9.

 

Northern Carolina 2-A: North Carolina School of Science and Math takes the number one spot, winning league championships in men’s and women’s cross country and also women’s tennis. South Granville holds second with a championship in volleyball and a runner-up finish in football. Not far behind South Granville sits Durham School of the Arts, with runner-up finishes in both men and women’s cross country and also  a second place finish in women’s tennis. Conference Standings: NCSSM 33, South Granville, 26.5, Durham School of the Arts 25.5, Franklinton 23, Roanoke Rapids 21, Bunn 19, Southern Vance 9.5, Warren County 7.5.

 

Rocky River 2-A: With a tight race after the fall season, Mount Pleasant and Central Academy are tied at the top of the conference. Mt. Pleasant took first in volleyball and football, while Central Academy took first in men’s cross country and tied for first in men’s soccer. Sitting only a point and a half is Parkwood with a first place finish in women’s tennis. Third place goes West Stanly thanks to a first place finish in girls cross country. Conference Standings: Mount Pleasant 24, Central Academy 24, Parkwood, 22.5, West Stanly 22, Forest Hills 15, Monroe 12.5.

 

East Central 2-A: The top three teams remain close, with Croatan on top thanks to first-place finishes in volleyball and women’s cross country and second-place finishes in men’s soccer and men’s cross country. East Duplin takes second place due to a strong performance in men’s cross country and runner-up finishes in women’s tennis and volleyball. Dixon is in third place. just one point behind East Duplin, taking first in women’s tennis and second in women’s cross country. Conference Standings: Croatan 56.5, East Duplin 53, Dixon 52, Southwest Onslow 45, North Brunswick 39.5, Northside 38.

 

Southern District 7 2-A: It’s a tight race after the fall season, with Newton Conover holding a small lead over East Lincoln and Lincolnton. Newton-Conover finished on top in women’s soccer, volleyball, and men’s soccer. East Lincoln and Lincolnton are tied for second. East Lincoln won conference crowns in football and women’s cross country, while Lincolnton took runner-up finishes in men’s cross country, men’s soccer, and football. Conference Standings: Newton-Conover 36.5, East Lincoln 34, Lincolnton 34, Bandys 31, West Lincoln 23.5, Maiden 22, Bunker Hill 19, West Caldwell 15.

 

Western Piedmont 2-A: In a fierce battle after the fall season, Forbush and Surry Central are deadlocked in the top spot with Forbush capturing the league titles in men’s soccer and both men’s and women’s cross country, while Surry Central took home the crown in women’s tennis and also finished runner-up in women’s golf and men’s soccer. West Stokes takes third with second-place finishes in football and women’s cross country. Conference Standings: Forbush 31, Surry Central 31, West Stokes 26, North Surry 25, South Stokes 20, Carver 8.

 

Northeastern Coastal 2-A: Northeastern takes control of the conference after the fall season, procuring the top spot with championships in volleyball, football, and men’s cross country. Northeastern also finished as the runner-up in women’s cross country and tied for second in men’s soccer. First Flight edges out Currituck to take second, thanks to championships in women’s tennis and women’s cross country. First Flight also finished in second for men’s soccer. Third place Currituck tied with Northeastern in men’s soccer. Conference Standings: Northeastern 38, First Flight 33, Currituck 32, Edenton Holmes 23, Hertford County 21, Pasquotank 17, Bertie 12.

 

Eastern Carolina 2-A: The race to the top spot currently belongs to North Lenoir after the fall sports season, with a top finish in women’s cross country. Greene Central had top finishes in men’s soccer and women’s tennis to take second in the conference standings. South Lenoir holds third with a top performance in men’s cross country. Conference Standings: North Lenoir 23, Greene Central 21, South Lenoir 17, Ayden-Grifton 13, Kinston 10, Goldsboro 9.

 

Eastern Plains 2-A: Washington takes the number one spot in the conference after the fall, thanks to top finishes in football, men’s soccer, and volleyball. Second place belongs to North Pitt, while Beddingfield finishes the fall in third with a top finish in women’s tennis. Conference Standings: Washington  27, North Pitt  24.5, Beddingfield  17.5, Farmville Central 15, SouthWest Edgecombe 13.5, North Johnston  11.5.

 

Class 2-A/3-A Conference Results

 

Western North Carolina Athletic 2A-3A: With a solid fall performance, Franklin edges out West Henderson for the top spot, thanks to conference crowns in football, men’s soccer, and men’s cross country. West Henderson took home the league title in volleyball and had a runner-up finish in men’s cross country. East Henderson takes third with second-place finishes in women’s cross country and men’s soccer. Conference Standings: Franklin 41.5, West Henderson 39, East Henderson 35, Pisgah 33.5, Brevard 31, Smoky Mountain 28, North Henderson 19.5, Tuscola 19.5.

 

Big South 2-A/3-A: Forestview finishes the fall season at the top of the conference with a commanding lead, after strong championship performances in football, men’s soccer, and men’s cross country. Ashbrook is in second place with Lake Norman Charter only trailing by one point, due to top finishes in women’s cross country and women’s tennis. Conference Standings: Forestview 83, Ashbrook 69, Lake Norman Charter 68, North Gaston 66, South Point 65, East Gaston 47, Stuart Cramer 45, Hunter Huss 42.

 

South Mountain Athletic 2-A/3-A: Shelby is in front of the pack after the fall season, with first place finishes in men’s soccer and cross country, and a runner up finish in football. Kings Mountain takes the second place slot for the fall with conference crowns in volleyball and women’s cross country. Right behind Kings Mountain is Crest, which finished in first place for football and women’s tennis. Conference Standings: Shelby 43, Kings Mountain 39.5, Crest 38, Draughn 37, R-S Central 33.5, East Burke 30, East Rutherford 15.5, Chase 13, Burns 12.5.

 

Class 3-A Conference Results

 

Southern Carolina 3-A: Marvin Ridge holds off Weddington to finish at the top of the conference in the fall, with top finishes in women’s tennis, women’s golf, women’s cross country, and volleyball. Weddington, only a half-point behind in second place, had top finishes in men’s soccer and cross country. In third place with a top finish in football is Cuthbertson. Conference Standings: Marvin Ridge 37.5, Weddington 37, Cuthbertson 27.5, Piedmont 20, Sun Valley 15, Anson 7.

 

Coastal 3-A: West Carteret leads the conference after the fall sports season, with championship performances in women’s cross country, women’s golf, and volleyball. Jacksonville beat out Swansboro thanks to a strong first place finish in men’s soccer and a runner-up finish in women’s golf. Swansboro is only two points back in third place with, women’s tennis taking the top spot and a second place performance for women’s cross country. Conference Standings: West Carteret 39, Jacksonville 35, Swansboro 33, White Oak 28, Havelock 21, Richlands 21, West Craven 11.

 

Big 8 3-A: With first place finishes in volleyball, women’s tennis, and men and women’s cross country, as well as a runner-up performance in men’s soccer, Cardinal Gibbons holds the top spot in the conference after the fall season. Chapel Hill recorded a first-place finish in men’s soccer and second place finish in women’s tennis and both men and women’s cross country to claim second place. Cedar Ridge is third, thanks to a second place finish in volleyball and third place finish in women’s tennis. Conference Standings: Cardinal Gibbons 36, Chapel Hill 32, Cedar Ridge 24, Orange 22.5, Northwood 22, Southern Durham 11, Northern Vance 9.5, Webb 9.

 

Mid Piedmont 3-A: With a conference crown in volleyball and runner-up finishes in football, women’s cross country, and men’s soccer, Asheboro jumps out in front of the field after the fall. Ledford sits at second place, thanks to championships in women’s tennis and cross country, and a second place finish in men’s cross country. Southwestern Randolph finishes the fall in third, tying Asheboro for second place in men’s soccer and a runner-up finish in volleyball. Conference Standings: Asheboro 34, Ledford 30, Southwestern Randolph 26, Central Davidson 23.5, Southern Guilford 21.5, North Forsyth 19, Western Guilford 16.

 

Cape Fear Valley 3-A: With a spectacular fall season, Terry Sanford leads the conference, taking first place in football, men’s cross country, women’s tennis and women’s golf,. Second place is a tie between to Lee County and Union Pines. Lee County won the volleyball championship and took second place in women’s golf. A first place finish in women’s cross country and second place finishes in women’s tennis and golf has Union Pines right there with Lee County. Conference Standings: Terry Sanford 43, Lee County 36.5, Union Pines 36.5, Southern Lee 28, Gray’s Creek 25, Westover 15, Douglas Byrd 9.

 

Big East 3-A: Hunt edges out Fike, taking the conference lead after the fall with a championship in men’s soccer and runner-up finishes in women's cross country, volleyball, and women’s tennis. Fike had solid performances with championship crowns in football, volleyball, and women’s golf. Rocky Mount takes third, with a first-place finish in women’s tennis and a second-place finish in men’s cross country. Conference Standings: Hunt 66.5, Fike 65.5, Rocky Mount 62.5, Southern Nash 56.5, Northern Nash 54, Nash Central 35.

 

South Piedmont 3-A: With solid performances in men’s soccer, men’s cross country, and women’s golf, Jesse Carson has the lead after the fall sports season. Trailing Carson by a small margin is Cox Mill, with top finishes in volleyball and women’s tennis. Concord finished out the fall with a strong season in football and women’s tennis, placing it in third place. Conference Standings: Carson 292.5, Cox Mill 287.5, Concord 240, Hickory Ridge 227.5, Northwest 227.5, East Rowan 205, West Rowan 172.5, Central Cabarrus 122.5, South Rowan 105.

 

Two Rivers 3-A:  Corinth Holders had a dominant fall sports season, including championships in men’s soccer, men and women’s cross country, a first place tie in football, a runner up finish in women’s golf and tie for second in women’s tennis. Corinth Holders leads the standings with Second place belonging to Cleveland, which tied for first in football, tied for second in women’s tennis, and had runner-up finishes in men’s soccer and men’s cross country. Triton holds third plac,e thanks to league titles in women’s golf and tennis, and also in volleyball. Conference Standings: Corinth Holders 70.5, Cleveland 65.5, Triton 60, South Johnston 59, Western Harnett 51, Smithfield-Selma 45.

 

Mid-State 3-A: Northern Guilford leads the conference after the fall with conference titles in men’s cross country, men’s soccer, and women’s tennis. Northern Guilford also took home runner-up finishes in women’s cross country, football, and women’s golf. A tie for second place belongs to Eastern Alamance and Walter Williams. Eastern Alamance finished the fall season with a first-place finish in football and a second-place finish in women’s tennis, while Walter Williams took first in women’s cross country and a second in women’s tennis. Conference Standings: Northern Guilford 95, Eastern Alamance 81, Walter Williams 81, Western Alamance 77, Rockingham County 73.5, McMichael 65.5, Morehead 50.5, Eastern Guilford 45, Northeast Guilford 35.5.

 

 

Class 3-A/4-A Conference Results

 

Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A: New Bern beats out D.H. Conley to take first place in the conference after the fall, with conference championships in football, men’s soccer, and both men and women’s cross country. Conley has sole possession of second, followed by Rose who sits in third.. Conference Standings: New Bern 40.5, D.H. Conley 36, J.H. Rose 29, South Central 25, C.B. Aycock 21.5, Eastern Wayne 18, Southern Wayne 13.

 

Mountain Athletic 3-A/4-A: T.C. Roberson is in first after the fall, thanks to capturing the title in women’s cross country and a tie for first in women’s tennis with Asheville. Roberson also finished runner-up in men’s cross country and women’s golf. Second place is separated by one point, with A.C. Reynolds edging out North Buncombe, thanks to a championship in men’s soccer and runner-up finishes in volleyball and women’s cross country. North Buncombe took home the conference crown in women’s golf to hold third overall. Conference Standings: T.C. Roberson 78, A.C. Reynolds 69, North Buncombe 68, Asheville 63, Enka 49, McDowell 30, Clyde Erwin 29.

 

Mideastern 3-A/4-A: Hoggard proved its dominance in the fall season, claiming the number one spot in conference with first place finishes in football, volleyball, men’s and women’s cross country. Laney holds off New Hanover to take sole possession of second place with runner-up finishes in men’s soccer and women’s golf, even though New Hanover took home the conference championships in men’s soccer and women’s tennis. New Hanover is in third place. Conference Standings: Hoggard 43, Laney 35.5, New Hanover 34, Ashley 27, Topsail 22, South Brunswick 20, West Brunswick 14.5.

 

Northwestern Athletic 3-A/4-A: Watauga takes the top spot after the fall, dominating both the cross country championships and also finishing in a tie for second place for women’s tennis. Hickory is second with championships in volleyball and women’s tennis. South Caldwell takes the third place spot, with a top finish in women’s golf and a runner-up finish in football. Conference Standings: Watauga 79.5, Hickory 76, South Caldwell 61.5, Freedom 58.5, Fred T. Foard 57.5, St. Stephens 57.5, Hibriten 50.5, Patton 47.

 

North Piedmont 3-A/4-A: Lake Norman finishes the fall sports season out in front with top performances in football, women’s tennis, and women’s cross country. Mooresville is in the second spot with top finishes in football and women’s tennis, while South Iredell is third based on performances in volleyball and women’s golf. Conference Standings: Lake Norman 302.5, Mooresville 260, South Iredell 245, North Iredell 222.5, North Lincoln 222.5, Alexander Central 210, Statesville 190, West Iredell 167.5.

 

Class 4-A Conference Results

 

Southeastern 4-A: Pinecrest takes control of the conference after the fall with a dominating performance, taking championships in volleyball, women’s golf, women’s tennis, men and women’s cross country, and also tying in men’s soccer with Richmond. While Richmond tied with Pinecrest in soccer, it also finished runner-up in football and women’s golf to take second place. Scotland finished third, thanks to a championship on football and a second place finish in volleyball and men’s cross country. Conference Standings: Pinecrest 39.5, Richmond 27.5, Scotland 24, Lumberton 20, Purnell Swett 18, Hoke 17.

 

Mid-South 4-A: Jack Britt is the frontrunner after the fall with first place finishes in volleyball, women’s tennis, men’s soccer, and women’s golf as well as a second place finish in women’s cross country. Cape Fear is second with four runner-up finishes in volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s golf, and football which was a tie. South View sits at third despite sweeping the cross country championships and taking second in women’s tennis. Conference Standings: Jack Britt 44, Cape Fear 35, South View 30, Pine Forest 28, Overhills 24, Seventy-First 21, E.E. Smith 11.

 

Piedmont Triad 4-A: Sweeping the cross country championships and taking the crown in volleyball and women’s tennis puts Northwest Guilford in the lead after the fall season. Ragsdale settles for second place, with a top performance in women’s golf and runner-up finishes in men’s and women’s cross country, volleyball, and women’s tennis. East Forsyth took home the championship in football and men’s soccer, while also finishing second in women’s cross country,  to end the fall in third. Conference Standings: Northwest Guilford 36, Ragsdale 29, East Forsyth 25.5, Southwest Guilford 22, High Point Central 19.5, Glenn 15.

 

Southwest Wake 4-A: Green Hope is the conference leader after the fall season, capturing the conference championship in volleyball, women’s cross country, and men’s soccer. All-Metro 4-A: Jumping out in front of the pack, Page finished first in women’s tennis, women’s golf, volleyball, men’s cross country, tied for first in men’s soccer, and also had a runner-up finish in women’s cross country. Grimsley is second, with a title in women’s cross country, and runner-up finishes in women’s golf, volleyball, to go with a second-place tie in women's tennis with Southeast Guilford. SoMeck 8 4-A: In a tussle for the top spot, Providence edges Charlotte Catholic by a point, thanks to sweeping the cross country championships and taking home first in volleyball to go with a runner-up finish in men’s soccer. Catholic took home first-place finishes in women’s tennis, men’s soccer, and football, while women’s golf finished in second place. Not far behind in third place is Ardrey Kell, despite winning women’s golf and having runner-up finishes in volleyball, women’s tennis, and women’s cross country. Cap 8 4-A: Championships in volleyball, men’s soccer and cross country procure the top spot for Broughton after the fall sports season. Millbrook edges out Leesville Road by a half a point to take second in conference placing runner-up in football and men’s cross country. Leesville placed third in the conference thanks to the conference title in women’s cross country and a second place finish in volleyball. PAC 6 4-A: East Chapel Hill is the frontrunner after the fall with a sweep of cross country championships, first place in volleyball and women’s tennis, and also a first place tie in men’s

soccer. Despite tying first in men’s soccer and second-place performances in men and women’s cross country, Jordan sits in second in the conference. Riverside solidified the third spot with a second-place finish in volleyball. Southwestern 4-A: Myers Park takes a comfortable lead after the fall season thanks to top finishes in both men and women’s cross country, volleyball, and women’s tennis. With top finishes in football and volleyball Butler just edges out Porter Ridge for second place. In third place, Porter Ridge had top finishes in soccer and volleyball. Conference Standings: Myers Park 44, Butler 33.5, Porter Ridge 32.5, Independence 28.5, East Mecklenburg 25.5, Rocky River 14, Garinger 9.

 

Greater Neuse River 4-A: In a competitive fight for first, Clayton comes out on top thanks to a conference title in women’s tennis and a second-place finish in women’s golf. West Johnston takes second despite sweeping the cross country championships and a runner-up finish in women’s tennis. Garner solidified third place with league titles in football and women’s golf. Conference Standings: Clayton 75.5, West Johnston 75, Garner 72, Knightdale 68, Southeast Raleigh 68, Harnett Central 56, East Wake 48, Rolesville 42.5.

 

Central Piedmont 4-A: Reagan takes a commanding lead after the fall sports season with top finishes in men’s soccer, football, women’s golf, volleyball, and women’s cross country. Mount Tabor procured second place with top finishes in men’s cross country and volleyball, while West Forsyth is in third in the standings with its best finish in volleyball. MeCKa 4-A: W.A. Hough is in a comfortable position after the fall season, winning league titles in women’s golf, volleyball, men’s soccer, and also women’s tennis. Mallard Creek takes second over A.L. Brown winning the football championship, while third-place A.L. Brown took home the men’s cross country championship. Conference Standings: W.A.
