CARY—Panther Creek High School has named a veteran coach with a quarter-century of experience at the collegiate level to coach track and field, according to several media reports including HighSchoolOT.com and the Raleigh News and Observer.

Vince Brown comes to Panther Creek after coaching track and field for 25 years at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA.

His stellar career included coaching 12 teams to national championships and 59 regional or relay national champions, which landed him in the U.S. Track and Field Coaches National Hall of Fame in 2005. He is also a member of the Christopher Newport Athletics Hall of Fame and the Emory and Henry College Hall of Fame. Brown is a graduate of Emory and Henry.

Prior to his collegiate coaching, Brown coached for 13 years in Virginia high schools.
