Eastern Guilford Will Seek New Football Coach

GIBSONVILLE — Eastern Guilford High School will take a couple of months to fill its open football coaching position, based on a report in the Burlington Times-News.

Scott Loosemore resigned from the position recently. Athletics director Randall Hackett said applications will be accepted through the end of January and then interviews will probably begin the week of February 6.

In six seasons under Loosemore, the Wildcats posted a 29-42 record, reaching the state playoffs five times. Eastern was 6-6 this season and lost to eventual 3-AA state champion Northern Guilford in the opening round of the NCHSAA playoffs.

Loosemore was an assistant coach under Jason Gibson before his promotion to head coach. He guided the football program through the aftermath of a major fire at the school in the fall of 2006.
