Carolina Panthers Offer Programs Promoting Coaching, Participation

CHARLOTTE—The Carolina Panthers, one of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s corporate partners, has several community outreach programs that could be of interest to NCHSAA member schools.

The NFL High School Player Development program helps high school students in communities in need tackle the challege of getting to college. The program provides incoming (fall season) sophomore, juniors and seniors a program focusing on academic counseling and football skill training by position.

A program designed for younger players in the NFL Junior Player Development program. It is an introductory and developmental youth tackle football program for young men ages 12 to 14. NFL Junior Player Development teaches participants every football position through a step-by-step progression of skill instruction, packaged in a re-adaptive, fun and entertaining manner.

Designed to elevate the quality of coach at the youth and high school levels, the NFL/NFF Coaching Academy consists of one-day or two-day clinics that train coaches to effectively teach the game of football, while running a safe and successful program in a positive learning environment.

More information on these programs may be found at the Panthers web site, http://www.panthers.com/community/youthprepfb.jsp .
